Embark App - New Features
Embark App - New Features

Problem Statement
Missionaries want an easier way to find and manage the words from lessons they want to review, and they want to add custom words on Embark and be able to easily find them.
Process
Started by doing user interviews before starting on the designs, then went through the design process from sketching to prototyping, receiving feedback at different stages of the process from teammates and managers.
Sketches

Usability Testing: The word group names we had been considering (word list or level), didn’t make much sense to the missionaries, and naming them by their commonality type made more sense (Most common, common, less common.)
Adding filters to the manage tab wasn’t as useful for missionaries as adding filters to the other tabs (discover & review)
Outcome & Lessons
This was a great learning experience, and my first experience outside of the classroom where I got to see how the UX process goes in a real-world company. I got to know what it’s like to work with a project manager, researchers, and developers and do real usability studies and user interviews.
